Golden Cockerel’s employees are Process Workers based at the Mt Cotton plant. Process comprises of two departments - Production and Distribution.
Production (process work)
Our Production Department consists of five functions each responsible for a specific process. Each process is a section of work and is briefly outlined below.
Packing – packing or bagging whole birds into boxes
Pieces – sorting and packing chicken pieces and cuts
Marinate – process of injection marinating of whole birds
Top Seal – packing and sealing of chicken pieces into trays
Live Bird – hanging and evisceration processes
Distribution (warehouse & delivery)
Our Distribution staff are responsible for a range of warehousing functions in a refrigerated environment, including palletising, stacking, picking and packing of orders, loading and unloading trucks, operating material handling equipment, and general warehouse tasks including chiller and freezer work.
Drivers in our Distribution Department are responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of our products to our customers, and for the safe storage and handling of packed goods during delivery.
